Philosophy Café: Arne Næss – Hallingskarvet, Wonder, and Critique

Welcome to the Philosophy Café at Geilo Cultural Church on February 25.

In 2004, Ånund Austenå made a short film featuring Arne Næss in conversation with Inga Bostad. The dialogue takes place on a train heading toward Tvergastein—Arne Næss’s second home, high up near Hallingskarvet. The film brings us close to Næss as many remember him: curious, playful, sharp—and always open to wonder and critical questions.

This evening, Ånund Austenå will visit our newly established philosophy café at the Cultural Church in Geilo. We will screen the film (approx. 25 minutes), followed by a panel discussion in which the audience is also invited to take part. The evening will also feature stories and reflections from people who knew Arne Næss personally.

Bring your curiosity—and feel free to bring a question or two.
