Skill Trails in Geilo

Fun trail biking with different levels of difficulty!

The skill trails at Geilo are fun gravel trails with jumps, turns and several cool elements. From the bike park below Vestlia Resort you will find several of these, and when you come out on the other side, even more are waiting for you. The skill trails are well marked and are all connected and accessible from Ustedalsfjord lake on the Vestlia side.

The Skill Trails at Vestlia

The skill trails can be combined with cycling around Ustedalsfjorden lake and back to Vestlia bike park for even more cycling fun.

Røyskatten

Røyskatten

Length: 0,8 km. Difficulty: Green. Lift: No.

Røyskatten starts right at the pump track, and takes you on a fun round in the woods before ending back at the pump track. Small, fun elements that can be cycled over, or around if you prefer. It’s an exciting round for the whole family who loves biking.

Skurfen

Length: 0.7km. Difficulty: Blue. Lift: No.

This is the first family-friendly bike path that was built in Hallingdal. Skurfen is built according to all the rules of the art, to give the maximum flow and smiles per meter! As a bonus, you cycle in fantastic surroundings. The trail is fun to cycle for all levels, with built-up turns, lots of moguls, and great views. It consists of a compact and even gravel surface, which can withstand all kinds of weather. There are several stops with benches along the path.

Skurfen

Hakkespetten

Hakkespetten

Length: 0.5km. Difficulty: Blue. Lift: No.

Blue-graded fun ride with plenty of berms, alternative lines and several rollable jumps. Perfect finale to a round in the trail network by Ustedalsfjorden.
The path has a compact, gravel surface and can be cycled in all kinds of weather.

Revesvingen

Length: 0.4km. Difficulty: Red. Lift: No.

Fancy a bit more challenges and air under the tires - then Revesvingen is the trail for you. To cycle Revesvingen, you start out in Skurfen. A little over halfway, right after the break area at the highest point, you will find the entrance on the right. Revesvingen is narrower than Skurfen and built in local masses. Here several cool jumps, all of which can be rolled.

Revesvingen

Fossakallen

Fossekallen

Length: 0.7km. Difficulty: Green. Lift: No

Fossekallen is perhaps the valley's most idyllic path, located close to the beautiful Ustedalsfjord. The path is machine-made with a compact and even surface. Here you are never far from Vestlia bike park and the hotel, and it is safe to send the children out on the trail alone. We recommend cycling Fossekallen as part of a round trip, which starts with Røyskatten, continues on Fossekallen via the access path to the gravel trail, Ustedalsfjorden Lake Round. The round ends with Skurfen.

Harestien

Length: 0.3km. Difficulty: Green. Lift: No

Harestien

Moltekroken

Moltekroken

Length: 0.6km. Difficulty: Blue. Lift: No

Moltekroken is an extension of the trail network by Ustedalsfjorden. The path winds through the landscape, with small berms and fun jumps. Here, all you have to do is pedal and you get buckets of flow as a reward. The trail segment ends at Hakkespetten, and together with Skurfen and Fossekallen, this is a great family-friendly round of approx. 3 km. Here you just cycle round after round!

Skrukketrollet

Length: 0.3km. Difficulty: Red. Lift: No

A classic, hand-built narrow path segment starting in Skurfen. Skrukkettrollet is narrower and has rougher ground than the other paths by Ustedalsfjorden. Perfect for building up skills that can be used in Geilo's vast natural trail network, or if you want a bit of a change from the machine-built floating trails.

At Bever’n, you will find a lot of excitement in a small space. Gradings, stone elements, and for the extra tough, you can have air under your wheels. This is a trail you will cycle again and again.

Bever'n is located right next to Geilohallen, and is made as a training arena for Geilo IL; but the trail is open to everyone, and offers a lot of biking fun! The trail is perfect for mastering both turning technique and balance on the bike.
