Program for the National Park Days 2026
Every day
Bike lift and summer lift
Take the chairlift in Vestlia up to the top of Bjødnahovda (1056 m above sea level), either on foot or with a bike. From the top you’ll find many great hiking opportunities, with a well-deserved break at Vaffeltoppen. Here you can explore everything from flow trails down the ski slopes and take the lift back up as many times as you like! See opening hours here.
Stolpejakten
Download the Stolpejakten app and join the adventure to discover Geilo’s rich history and cultural heritage through Stolpejakten! On the Geilo town map you’ll find several routes with historical and traditional highlights. The town centre route is based on an audio tour created by students from the Norwegian School of Tourism in Geilo. At ten different points along the route, you can listen to audio files via the Voice of Norway app. On the Fabrikk route, you can visit three proud, traditional craft businesses that open their doors to visitors. The Fekjo and Tuftebrui route takes you through the Fekjo Cultural Heritage Park and to the beautiful Tuftebrui bridge. At each “stolpe” (post), you’ll find background information about the area.
Open mountain farms in Ostebygda
Most mountain farms in Ostebygda are open during the day, usually between 12.00 and 20.00 pm. Opening hours may vary, so we recommend checking each farm’s website. At the farms you can buy cheese, ice cream, sour cream, and various other dairy products – all made directly on the farms.

The National Park Bus makes it easy to explore the mountains – without a car. With daily departures to Tuva and Prestholtseter, you'll have easy access to fantastic hikes in Hardangervidda and Hallingskarvet National Parks. Leave your car behind and enjoy a more sustainable way to experience the mountains. Read more about the bus.
