Geilo Race

Are you excited that dog sports are finally back in full swing in Geilo since the Norwegian Championships in 2016? Then this event is for you! From 28 February to 1 March, Geilo Ski Stadium will be filled with skiing joy and dogs. Everyone can take part with their dogs by signing up.

The elite of dog sledding is coming to Geilo for the Geilo Race – will you join us too?

High speed, perfectly groomed trails, entertainment, and activities for both participants and spectators are guaranteed!

About the competition:
- The Geilo Race is part of the Norwegian Cup, but it is also a low-threshold event in Nordic-style dog sledding – where participants ski together with their dog.

- In Geilo, the NC discipline combined is held in Nordic style (pulk and skiing), in addition to a separate elite class in pure skiing.

- At the same time, Halling-labben is organized, a low-threshold event open to everyone – regardless of dog breed, size, or experience. Everyone can participate, and times are recorded just like in a regular race.

- We offer low-threshold classes for dogs of all sizes. If you’re fast on skis with your dog, both the Norwegian Cup and Elite classes are open to everyone. The elite class will be seeded, but otherwise the course and conditions will be the same for all competitors.

- Separate children’s race will also take place. There will also be classes for the very youngest participants, with a short course and the option of help from mum or dad. Great prizes and participation awards await all our youngest dog-sledding hopefuls. The Norwegian Sled Dog Association covers the entry fee for all participants up to 18 years old, but registration is mandatory.

Activities/Food& Beverages:
The kiosk will be open all weekend, and Geilo Husky will provide entertainment with campfire gatherings and sled rides.
