The “Music – Band and Touring” program at Fana Folk High School is ready to take Norway by storm. As “Fantastisk Musikk,” the group has delivered raw energy, creativity, and genuine joy of playing at a number of concerts – and now they are raising the bar even higher.
Audiences across the country are invited to concerts where original songs are combined with innovative interpretations of well-known artists. This is a show that truly connects: fresh, diverse, and filled with young musicians who love being on stage.
Fantastisk Musikk draws inspiration from a wide range of genres and artists – from rock and pop to jazz and alternative. The students are inspired by their own musical heroes, but they build on these influences with their own twist, their own energy, and their own sound. The result is music that feels both familiar and completely new at the same time – always marked by the explosive creativity of the program.
The band has already made a name for itself at local concerts and is described as a tight-knit collective of young musicians with the courage to try something new. On stage are performers from all over the world – from Japan, Romania, Serbia, and the Netherlands to different corners of Norway – all united by a shared passion for music and collaboration.
Fantastisk Musikk is led by teachers Birgitta Alida Hole and Sigurd Steinkopf, who, together with the students, create an environment where both safety and creative risk-taking have room to grow. The result is an expression that feels authentic, diverse, and bold.
