Ole Paus is no longer with us.
The rusty, husky voice that was unmistakably his, and that we listened to for more than sixty years, has fallen silent. We lost much when he passed away during Advent in 2023.
For many, he came especially close through the television series Hver gang vi møtes in 2013. He entered our living rooms—and our hearts—with his tears, his lyrics, and his songs. He touched us deeply.
Gunnar Wik presents Ole Paus—his lyrics, melodies, and words—and traces his life journey from a troubled childhood to his final farewell. The program is built around a dozen of Paus’s songs, ranging from lesser-known gems to the classics that have become part of Norway’s musical heritage.
Gunnar Wik sings, plays guitar, and guides the audience through the story. Musicians Lasse Fjellbirkeland and Magnus Køhn accompany him on bass and piano.
