Vernissage at Haakonsæt Fjellvilla
Hallingskarvet Calls is a painting exhibition by the German artist Oliver Renn, presented at Haakonsæt Fjellvilla. The opening takes place on June 27 at 3:00 PM. From this date and through September 14, everyone is warmly welcome to visit.
On Saturday, June 27 at 3:00 PM, Oliver Renn invites you to the opening of his exhibition at Haakonsæt. There will be accordion music by Bitteba Helland, and the artist himself will be present to introduce his works.
Oliver Renn was born in Freiburg, Germany, in 1960. He received extensive training in art and various techniques. He has been greatly inspired by the German landscape painter Bernd Zimmer and has attended his master classes.
Renn has a close connection to Hallingskarvet and owns a cabin in Sudndalen. His first visit to the area dates back to 1984, when he “kissed the Skarvet.” In the winter of 1986, he repeated this—this time on skis. His first stay at Gurustølen in Hol municipality was in September 1995, and in 2022 he established a studio there.
In terms of technique, Oliver primarily works in large formats on canvas, but he also uses watercolor, woodcut, and etching as artistic forms of expression.
