Theater performance Ge-Broken

Have you ever reflected on language as a source of power or weakness in our culture? Have you considered what feelings and status are associated with expressing yourself in a language other than your native language?

"Ge~broken" is a theater performance created by Karolina M. Lisik in collaboration with Buskerud Teater.

The performance explores language and culture, and dives deep into the themes of linguistic belonging and identity. Throughout the performance, we follow Karolina's journey in Norwegian society and language. Karolina, who herself moved from Poland to Norway a few years ago, combines her own experiences with stories from others who also moved here as adults, and thus provides a unique insight into the experiences of those who speak Norwegian with a different accent.
