If you want the freedom to explore the Geilo region at your own pace, a rental car is a good solution.
The nearest car rental is at Gol, about 40 minutes east of Geilo. Here, you will find both Hertz and Avis car rental. We recommend that you book a car in advance and read about the road conditions in the area before you arrive. Driving in the summer is easy, but the conditions in the winter can be demanding.
Transport to and from Kikut
The Kikut bus from SkiGeilo is the easiest way to get from the train to a cabin at Kikut.
Thursdays and Fridays in the winter season, the Kikut bus takes you to your cabin. On Sundays, the bus takes you back to the train station for a comfortable and green journey home by train. The Kikut bus has its own app, "Helt Frem." Here you can see timetables, and also book and pay for the Kikut bus. The app has been developed in collaboration with VY and GoMobile.
Book a seat at least 1 hour before arrival at Geilo station to secure a seat on the bus. If no one orders before the deadline, the departure will be cancelled. If another passenger orders a ticket for the departure, you will be able to buy a ticket for the departure right up until departure from Geilo station.
