Season Opener at Geilo 2026
Welcome to the Season Opener in biathlon at Geilo – a weekend full of activities, life and public celebrations for the whole of Hallingdal! The weekend offers everything from top-level sports, activities for children and young people, stalls and stands, to après-ski and a free outdoor concert in the city center!
At Geilo Stadion you will meet the Norwegian national team and strong challengers from France and Italy, among others. It will be extra fun to cheer on Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen and Leo Gundersen – two real wasps who have fought their way back from injuries and now get to compete on home soil.
Between the competitions, the children can try activities, warm up around the fire pits and grill stick bread. At the stadium there will also be stalls, stands and an atmospheric serving tent with music and après-ski when the last athlete of the day has crossed the finish line.
In the city center, a Christmas market, good offers in the shops and nice places to gather for a meal. Saturday evening we invite you to a free outdoor concert with Odd Nordstoga in the city center - bring your family and friends, dress warmly and join the sing-along! The concert is free, but everyone must book a ticket so that we have an overview of the number of visitors.
With Vy, you can easily get to and from Geilo, and with good hotel offers for the whole family, everything is in place for a weekend in the mountains.
