Sauna Geilo selv service

Secure your sauna session, with the option to book from 1 to 4 hours (self-service).

Welcome to Skarveegget a self-service wood-fired sauna with plenty of space for 6 people.

This is a self-service wood-fired saunawhich means the sauna will be cold when you arrive, and you are responsible for lighting the stove yourself. The sauna heats up in about one hour.
When you are finished please brush the benches and floor thoroughly. Remember to empty all buckets of water before leaving. You will find firewood, kindling, firelighters, and matches in the sauna. Leave Skarveegget the way you would like to find it — or even a little better
The sauna is designed for 6 people, but there is room for 8 if you sit close together.
There is no dressing room or changing area. You will change outdoors next to the sauna.

The sauna is beautifully located with views over the Ustedalsfjorden, the forest, and the surrounding mountains. You can take breaks from the heat by stepping outside into the snow or cooling down in the fresh mountain air.

If you want to pour water over the hot stones, you must bring your own water for this. It is recommended to bring water, as the steam produced when pouring water over the hot stones gives the best sauna experience. You may also use snow if there is snow available outside or fill water in your bottles in the restroom in Vestlia Resort, this is a good thing to do while you are waiting for the sauna to be warm.

Note:The sauna is not warm when you arrive; you must light the wood-burning stove yourself. This is NOT combined with cold-water dipping.
If you want to combine sauna and ice bath you can book the sauna in Ustaoset, located 12 km from Geilo.
