Roseslottet celebrates the Liberation Anniversary

To mark the liberation anniversary in 2025, the Government is sending Roseslottet on a tour around the country. At each location, the audience can experience a performance with Vebjørn Sand and Eimund Sand, see an exhibition of artwork from Roseslottet and participate in family activities with the artists. Geilo is one of 13 different visiting locations on the tour list.

With film, pictures, music and storytelling, Vebjørn Sand and Eimund Sand take us into their artistic universe and tell us about the important values ​​that were stolen from us during the Second World War, and that we fought back: Democracy, the rule of law and humanism.

The performance is part of the anniversary tour in spring 2025. The tour is supported by the Ministry of Defence and the Hans Herman Horn Foundation.

The art installation Roseslottet at Frognerseteren in Oslo will be open as normal while the tour is taking place. The Rose Castle recently had its lifespan extended and will be open until 2026.

Saturday 31 May
12:00-15:00 visit the exhibition in Geilo Kulturkyrkje! Vebjørn Sand and Eimund Sand have brought a selection of artworks from the Rose Castle in Oslo. The exhibition is free.
18:00-19:30 ‘VI ER FRI’ – a performance with Vebjørn Sand and Eimund Sand. After the performance it will be possible to meet the artists. The performance is free, but requires registration. Register via TicketCo.

Sunday 1 June
12:00-15:00 open exhibition and activities with Vebjørn Sand and Eimund Sand. The audience can see Vebjørn Sand meet and draw a contemporary witness from the Second World War. Eimund Sand will take the audience into the magical universe of geometry through the performance “Mathematics Magic”. The exhibition and activities are free. No registration required.
