Guidet hike to Halnekollen

Halne Fjellstugu invites you to join a guided hike to Halnekollen, one of the most spectacular viewpoints on the Hardangervidda mountain plateau. The hike takes place on 1 August, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and is suitable for anyone who wants to experience stunning mountain scenery while learning about the area's nature, history, and national park heritage.

Join a Guided Hike to Halnekollen During National Park Days!

As part of the National Park Days, we invite you to join a scenic guided hike to Halnekollen (1,358 m above sea level). At the summit, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Hardangerjøkulen Glacier, Helle Hallingskarvet to the west, and the vast Hardangervidda Plateau stretching out to the southeast. On a clear day, you can even spot the famous Gaustatoppen mountain.

Welcome and coffee before the hike
The round-trip hike to the summit takes approximately 1–1.5 hours
After the hike, you'll be served traditional Norwegian sour cream porridge (rømmegrøt) with cured meats, included in the price.

Throughout the day, you'll gain insight into the area's history, wildlife and flora, the landscape surrounding you, and the importance of preserving Norway's last untouched wilderness through its national parks.

Every day during National Park Days, we serve our special National Park Menu at Halne Fjellstugu from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Enjoy crispy pan-fried trout from Lake Halne, followed by cloudberry soup served with coffee and homemade ice cream—a delicious taste of the Norwegian mountains.
