Guided tour to Tvergastein, the cabin of Arne Næss.

Experience a special day in the high mountains with Vinternatt, featuring a guided hike, inspiring talks, and a visit to the historic cabin of philosopher Arne Næss.

The trip is led by Hilde Karlsen, a trained outdoor guide, singer, and year-round resident of Ustaoset. Along the way, participants will learn about the surrounding nature, plants, wildlife, and life in the mountains.

At Tvergastein, participants will be welcomed by Lotte Næss and Tine Blom, who open the childhood home and invite guests into stories, reflections, and conversations about this unique place.

Tine Blom will give an approximately one-hour talk on ecology, society, and lifestyle, inspired by Arne Næss’ philosophy. The visit also includes a guided tour of the cabin and time for questions and conversation.

Tvergastein is a place that invites calm and presence, where nature and the surroundings set the pace. Weather permitting, there may be an opportunity for a swim or a peaceful break in the heather before the return hike.
