Geilo Chess Festival III

There will be three days of chess, with a total of seven tournaments for children, adults, hobby players, and active tournament players. The program includes rated chess, the Children’s Grand Prix, pub chess, and the Geilo Gambit – a themed tournament featuring the King’s Gambit.

Stay and enjoy good food at Dr. Holms Hotel in the heart of Geilo, where all the tournaments will take place. Private accommodation is also available.

The weekend program is as follows:

Friday, September 18: Rated “slow” blitz chess – from 5:30 PM
Friday, September 18: Pub Chess – from 8:30 PM
Saturday, September 19: Marathon rapid chess – from 10:00 AM
Saturday, September 19: Geilo Gambit – from 3:30 PM
Saturday, September 19: Pub Chess with time handicap – from approximately 8:00 PM
Sunday, September 20: Children’s Grand Prix – from 10:30 AM
Sunday, September 20: Rated blitz chess – from 10:30 AM

Organizers

Geilo Chess Festival III is organized in cooperation between Hallingskarvet Chess Club and Søråshøgda Chess Club.

You do not have to play in the entire festival. Choose one tournament, several tournaments, or join us for the whole weekend. Each tournament has its own tournament announcement and separate registration.
