Geilo Chess Festival
The newly established Hallingskarvet Chess Club, in cooperation with Søråshøgda Chess Club, invites you to the first-ever chess tournaments in Geilo, taking place from March 13 to March 15 at Dr. Holms Hotel.
The first chess tournaments ever held at Geilo!
There was a team match in Geilo in 1923, but there have never been chess tournaments held in Geilo before – until now. Join us for a historic and enjoyable weekend on March 13–15, 2026!
The newly established Hallingskarvet Chess Club, in cooperation with Søråshøgda Chess Club, invites you to three FIDE-rated tournaments and two pub chess evenings – right between Bergen and Oslo.
Stay and dine well at Dr. Holms Hotel in the center of Geilo, where all the tournaments will take place. Private accommodation options will also be available.
