Concert with Hella the Movie
On July 17 at 8:00 PM, Geilo Kulturkyrkje invites you to a concert by the local duo Hella the Movie.
Hella the Movieis a duo consisting of siblings Frida and Gard Songstad Hella from Geilo. They have been singing and playing together their entire lives, and their music grows out of a shared upbringing shaped by friendship, adventure, and a deep joy for music. Hella the Movie creates music that feels like an inner film. The name reflects both their surname and their fascination with film’s ability to open up new perspectives.
The project moves within a landscape between soul, jazz, folk, and alternative rock, with a strong emphasis on storytelling, interplay, harmonies, and emotional expression.
In the summer of 2026, Hella the Movie will release their debut EP Biorhythm, consisting of six tracks.
It was created during the grieving process following their father’s passing and reflects conversations about identity, love, belonging, and relationships. The blend of genres represents growing up surrounded by diverse music, as well as a worldview rooted in the idea that everything is connected in the bigger picture.
