Canoe rental - Geilo Aktiv
Geilo Aktiv has 2 canoes for rent at the Ustedalsfjord in central Geilo. This is a wonderful activity for both families and couples who want to experience the serenity and beauty of nature up close.

Duration: Full day
Included: Full-day rental of canoe, paddles, and life jackets
Age limit: At least one responsible person over the age of 18 must participate. Children must be accompanied by adults.
Meeting point: The canoes are easily accessible from the parking lot at Geilo Badestrand, located 2.5 km from the town center.
Equipment Pickup and Return:
Paddles and life jackets must be picked up and returned at an address along Hjalmevegen. Pickup and return are self-service, based on instructions provided when booked.
The Canoes:
The sturdy Hasle canoes have three seats and are ideal for two adults and one to two small children. The canoes are secured with a combination lock and are located just west of Geilo Badestrand. Refer to the map and photo for exact placement.
How to Find the Canoes:
Walk west (to the right when facing the water from the parking lot) along the gravel path that follows the fjord. After a short distance, you’ll find a small bay where the canoes are ready for launch.
Respect for Nature:
Ustedalsfjorden is a nesting area for many bird species. During the summer months, we encourage visitors to be especially mindful by avoiding paddling into the reeds and by keeping a respectful distance from bird nests.
