In winter, Geilo Horse Center offers sleigh rides - horse and sleigh - in the center of Geilo, as well as winter horseback riding. Make yourself comfortable under blankets and relax. This activity is a pleasant experience suitable for the whole family! Or experience the beautiful winter landscape from horseback.

Sleigh rides are suitable for larger groups and individuals who want a pleasant ride in fresh air, or transport to one of Geilo's restaurants. The sleds are Austrian and have plenty of room for 10 people. They are not dependent of the weather conditions as the sleigh also has wheels that can be used if there is not enough snow. Sleigh rides is a popular activity, so we recommend booking early if you have special wishes for the day and time.

Geilo horse center has offered sleigh rides in Geilo for several decades, so this is one of Geilo's winter classics!

A RELAXING TRIP WITH A HORSE AND SLEIGH!

Geilo Horse Center offers regular sleigh ride trips "Sleigh ride", but can also be picked up at the hotels or an agreed location "Exclusive sleigh ride". A sleigh ride lasts approx. 45 minutes. In the carriage you get warm blankets spread over you and you get to take in the fresh winter air with the sound of bells, the sight of torches and steaming horses. It is perfect for those who want to have a pleasant ride and at the same time experience Geilo from a different perspective.

HORSEBACK RIDING IN A FANTASTIC WINTER LANDSCAPE!

Horseback riding in the winter is a fun and exciting experience. On varying surfaces with horses that are overly eager - it is recommended that you have some previous experience, as the ground can be a little uneven, and the horse can walk through the snow.

Clothing

Normal winter clothing, it is recommended that you dress according to the weather, preferably a hat and mittens. You will be wrapped in warm blankets in the sled.

Safety and insurance

Sleigh rides are suitable for everyone! Winter horseback riding is recommended for those with experience as the horses are often eager and it is somewhat variable surfaces due to ice/snow during the winter season. Before the ride, you get to take part in the preparations such as gathering the horses, grooming and saddle up. The ride is led by well-qualified instructors so you will feel safe on horseback. The trip is arranged according to weather conditions.
