It doesn't matter if you have no snowshoe experience - snowshoeing is something for everyone and is a great way to get out and enjoy the winter landscape. Whether you want to hike in untouched snow and terrain or on well-trod trails.
The tours are adapted to the desired speed, ascent, distance and length so that everyone gets a fantastic experience. If you would rather rent snowshoes, this is possible at Slaatta Ski Centre, at Geilo Aktiv (Vestlia Resort) and at the tourist information center in Geilo centre.

Geilo Aktiv offers a diverse range of snowshoe tours, with both starting and ending points at Vestlia Resort. The evening tour is perfect for everyone, especially popular among families and beginners looking for a relaxed experience. For longer excursions, whether solo or with a group, you can book the Mountain Tour or Day Trip. These tours are customized to fit your preferences and needs. Geilo Aktiv also provides snowshoe rentals.

Geilo Skiskole - Slaatta tilbyr en familievennlig trugetur som passer for alle med barn over 6 år. Turen går gjennom skogsområdet rundt Slaatta og avsluttes med aking og en koselig stund ved Slaatta Lavvoen. Her får familien delta i pinnebrød-baking, hvor brødene grilles over åpen ild – en flott og populær aktivitet for hele familien! FOR SNOWSHOEING

Clothing

Dress for outdoor activity with warm, windproof clothing. Ensure your clothes are flexible and comfortable. In snowy conditions, it's recommended to wear ski goggles or clear sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Footwear

Choosing the right footwear is crucial for ensuring that snowshoes fit well and comfortably. Snowshoe bindings work with most shoes, but moon boots, running shoes, and ski boots are not ideal. Hiking or mountaineering boots are best suited. If you have gaiters, they are useful for keeping snow out during the hike.
