Jøklagutane is an activity company based on Finse - 1222 meters above sea level.
They specialize in unique nature experiences and take you on glacier hikes on the beautiful blue ice on Hardangerjøkulen and kayaking in Arctic mountain water. On a trip with Jøklagutane, you always get a professional local guide and borrow all the necessary equipment for a fantastic experience!

It is good to know that Finse is only available by train and the start time for glacier guide / kayak is always set up after arrival / departure times to Vy.

The guide

The Finse activity program is provided by Jøklagutane who are a well established tour company based in Finse, who provide summer glacial tours. The winter program is lead by Ade Hawkins, a local guide living in Finse. Ade is originally from Scotland and has vast experience of leading worldwide. This includes high altitude peaks in South America, Nepal and Peru, living and working in extreme conditions from jungles, deserts to the ice cap in Antarctica. His passion is in enabling people of all abilities to get outside and enjoy the amazing enviroments of our planet. In winter in Finse Ade offers randonee ski introdcutions and snowshoe tours, and in summer Jøklagutane offers guiding on the Hardangerjøkulen glacier.
