Horseback riding - Whole day Experience

Duration: Approx 6 hour experience. Meeting time 10am.

Price includes: Guide, helmet and saddle bags.

Age limit: 12 Years old. Not for beginners. (Please check out our 1 and 2 hour tour)

Bring: Something to drink and eat. Dress the same way you would for a hiking trip in the mountains, we recommend long trousers and solid footwear (mountain hiking boots) and waterproofs. If you have your own riding/bicycle helmet you are welcome to bring this with you.

The day trip will have you being in charge of your own horse for the whole day. We will select you your horse for the day and you will get them groomed and tacked up, pack your saddle bag and then we head off into the mountains. We use the hills towards Kikut and the Bruslettstøl. As we go, we will have a nice view of Hallingskarvet, we go up around 200metres in elevation so the route can be quite challenging and exciting at points! We will stop for a short lunch and chance to stretch your legs or get a few photos! You will still be in charge of your horse and making sure they are happy and tied up during the break. Once the trip is finished you can help get the horses undressed and take them to their field to say your goodbyes.

We do mainly ride on our Icelandic horses as they can have a little more speed in the mountains, but also have the Norwegian breed Døle-horse. The icelandic horses have a capacity of 90kg, If you require a bigger horse or have a strong preference for one please leave a note in your booking comments. All our horses are experienced and very suited for riding in the mountains, and all sorts of trails.
