We can safely recommend the popular Prestholtrunden, a trip of just over 6 km that takes one and a half to three hours.
Start at Prestholtseter café, about 200 meters from the car park. The trail is built of stone, well marked and has a climb of 500 meters on the way up to Skarvsenden, where the reward awaits in the form of fantastic views of the Hardangervidda from 1705 m.o.h. From there, the path goes east and down again, until you are back at the starting point. Remember to bring warm clothes, it can be quite a lot colder up in the mountains than down by the café.
Feel free to try the café's specialty, sour cream porridge and lefsekling, before or after the trip.
