Huskytour Dryland

Join Ivar and the dogs on a tour in beautiful autumn colors on the mountain

Ivar and the dogs are preparing for the winter long-distance race with drylandtraining in beautiful Skurdalen, and we invite you to participate on the tour and the training of the dogs. Here you can take part in preparing the dogs, how to drive the team and of course the tour itself. Ivar is one of Norway's most experienced dogsledders, with, among other accomplishments, two podium places from Norwegian Championship longdistance in the last two years, so here you can ask everything you might wonder about dogsledding and dogs. Perhaps you recognize some of the dogs from the Femundrace or Finnmarksrace TV broadcasts?

During that period, the dogs are under training, so the trips we hold are limited, with few participants and we have plenty of time to enjoy the trip. This trip is well suited for families, couples, groups of friends - for all of you who want to enjoy the nice autumn day with lots of nice dogs.

Duration: This is an experience we call "harness on to harness off". In total it takes three hours, with two hours of actual dog sledding. It is a hands-on experience in a small group with no more than five guests per tour.

Price: Children NOK 1890 NOK Adults NOK 2190 NOK Children are from 4-11 years old. We do not recommend children under 4 years of age for this tour.

The dogs: You will drive a real Alaskan Husky. They are tough, kind and strong. The average speed is 12-14 km/h, a nice speed to keep your shoulders low and enjoy nature.

Suitable for: The vast majority of people who want a longer trip with peace of mind and a break from everyday life.

Clothing: Windproof and preferably rainproof jacket, windproof trousers, warm boots or shoes, hat, windproof gloves/mittens, woolen underwear and woolen socks. A neck/buff and glasses that protect against wind, rain or gravel. The clothes often get a little dirty during an autumn trip, it is recommended to wear clothes that can withstand being outside in all kinds of weather.

Meetingpoint: We meet in Skurdalen, approximately 20 minutes by car from Geilo. The meeting place may vary depending on the hunt and the weather. We do not offer transport.

Contact information: [email protected] or 924 66 920. We are a tiny company with 2 tour staff who care and train the dogs first and foremost, but we try to be as accessible as possible.

ATTENTION!!

We cannot carry out the tour if it is warmer than 12 degrees due to the dogs' welfare. If you book a trip in September, be aware that the trip may be postponed or cancelled, while October is a safer month to carry out the trip. We drive even if it rains and/or sleet. Feel free to follow yr.no in advance of the trip and dress according to the weather and your own preferences. If we as the organizer have to cancel the trip, you will be refunded the amount. If you as a guest cancel, the booking conditions of Geilo Booking apply. You can find this information under Booking terms on geilo.com's website or contact Geilo Booking directly.

Everyone who participates in dogsledding with us participates at their own risk. All participants must have their own travel insurance. If you or you participate without travel insurance, this is at your own risk.
