Geilojordet 2025
Geilojordet is a open air park with old buildings from our municipallitiy put together as a farm. During the summer there is a Summer Cafe from 11:00 to 16:00
Geilojordet is a gem for recreation, experiences, and family-friendly activities right in the center of Geilo!
From June through August, Geilojordet offers a range of summer experiences: an outdoor café serving traditional sour cream porridge, coffee, and Norwegian pancakes; exhibitions in the barn; and a large play area for children. You can also visit friendly baby goats and hens.
A highlight of the summer is the free storytelling theater, performed up to three times a day. Check the sign at the entrance for exact showtimes.
After the summer season, the café closes, but the farmyard remains open. You are welcome to explore, play, and admire the historic buildings — a living piece of local heritage.
Originally, Geilojordet was hayfield land and later a crofter’s farm under the Geilo estate. Today, it features historic buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, relocated from farms throughout the Hol municipality.
