Finse Randonee Explore
Finse Explore is for those wanting to develop basic randonnee skiing skills in an adventurous wild space. The tour is fully supported with an experienced ski instructor guide. You will ski tour above Finse and explore the steeper terrain on a local mountains; we will take time to learn about the mountain craft and skills needed for future solo adventures. Depending on conditions you will climb a small peak and enjoy a ski down in a safe and fun way.

This ski tour is for those who want to experience the wilderness of the high mountain area with a guide supporting their adventure. It is a good introduction to ski touring on gentle off-piste terrain in Norway. The focus is on experiencing the whole environment, enjoying the skin up as well as the ski down and also touches on mountain awareness and travel safety. Route will be adapted to make the most of the weather and group’s needs.
Take the morning train from Oslo or Bergen and you will be met by your guide at the station at 1240 hours. We will check all our equipment at the Finse Railway Station before heading out of the village and into the wild. Conditions on the day will determine our route but your guide will teach you about mountain hazards, route selection, ski transition tips and about finding the best downhill ski experience from the conditions.
The tour will have about 90 minutes uphill skiing and guests are encouraged to bring clothing for this but also something warmer to put on when they reach the summit and prepare to ski down. Guests are reminded that this tour is in mountainous environments and despite all good preparations the conditions will always influence the distance, duration and scale of what we do.
The tour will finish at Finse station in time for your train home.
