1 318 / 5 000 Guided day trip to Vargabreen 1766 m.a.s.
On Wednesday, April 16, we will go to Vargabreen with a guide from Geiterygghytte
Winter tour leader, glacier guide, geologist and author Thorbjørn Kaland is well-known both in the area around Geiterygghytta and in Skarvheimen in general. During Easter, he invites guests staying at Geiterygghytta, the people in the cabins in the vicinity and locals to join us on a trip in Skarvheimen.
On Wednesday, April 16, we will go to Vargabreen 1766 m.a.s.
We will start on the route towards Hallingskeid, and go up the slope to the north. We will enter Stora Vargavatnet, and continue west to the passive Vargabreen. This is one of many passive glaciers in the area and it is not actively moving in the landscape. There will be nice runs back to Geiterygghytte. We will consider the destination a little in relation to the weather, weather reports, the weather and the experience of the participants.
Equipment: Mountain skis, it may be a good idea to bring traps and possibly ski wax and you must have clothes to travel in the winter mountains with. Remember a packed lunch and drinks!
Meeting point: The trip starts from Geiterygghytta (1224 m above sea level) at 1000
Price: Free
Participants who do not live at the cabin: Those who do not live at the cabin must notify us no later than the evening before so that we know how many will join the trip. Send an email to [email protected] or call us on tel. 90601453.
Welcome to the trip in Skarvheimen!
